UHMWPE: Resilience and Adaptability UHMWPE polyethylene (like Dyneema or Spectra) is a lightweight, ultra-strong material designed to efficiently disperse impact energy. Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) is a modern ballistic material widely used in helmets and protective plates. It is distinguished by its ability to effectively absorb and disperse impact energy, providing proven safety for operators in the field. Its natural resistance to humidity and low temperatures makes it a particularly suitable choice for harsh environments. Advantages over Aramid: Natural impermeability: UHMWPE does not absorb water and remains stable in humid or marine environments, whereas aramid requires textile treatment for protection. High energy absorption: Its fibrous structure allows it to better distribute impact energy over a wider surface area, reducing the risk of penetration. Operational versatility: Particularly effective in cold and humid environments, such as swampy areas, polar areas or naval operations. Limitations: Marked deformation under impact: Regardless of the brand of helmet or high-end polyethylene, UHMWPE deforms more than aramid. To ensure optimal protection, it is strongly recommended to choose a larger size. Sensitivity to heat: It loses some of its mechanical performance from 80-100 °C, which makes it less suitable for environments exposed to high temperatures.

Each order including a helmet comes with an excerpt from the 2025 ballistic report. Note on color: The Multicam color used by Call of Defense is intentionally lighter than a standard Multicam, in order to better harmonize with recent French BME (Multi-Environment Camouflage) equipment. This is not an official BME, but a light Call of Defense Multicam, selected for its consistency with current French tactical configurations. This lighter shade allows for better visual integration with equipment predominantly sand, beige, light green, and intermediate tones, while maintaining the versatility of a multi-environment camouflage.
